Mission Statement: Compelled to action by the convictions of our founders, St. Vincent de Paul of Seattle/King County joins the community to listen, engage, and build relationships that assist and advocate for individuals and families to meet basic needs and achieve stability and self-suffceincy.
What St. Vincent de Paul can do for you: St. Vincent de Paul is currently able to assist with rent. If you need assistance with rent, please call the St. Vincent de Paul Society Helpline for King County at 206-767-6449 (Mon-Fri 8am–3pm). The call center logs basic information into a secure database and assigns the request to the appropriate parish / conference. We are currently only able to assist with rent. In the past, we have helped with utilities, clothing, food, furniture, household items, etc.
What you can do for St. Vincent de Paul: Monetary Assistance – Many people want to be involved but don't have time.
Monthly St. Vincent de Paul envelope – This envelope is included in the packet of envelopes provided by Holy Spirit Parish
Plain envelope with SVdP (or St. Vincent de Paul) written on it – For those who wish to give anonymously
Online Giving – For those who don't want to use an envelope
1st weekend of the month St. Vincent de Paul collection – At the beginning of the month, Vincentians stand at the exits of the church with collection baskets for those who wish to contribute.
Time and Talent - Indirect assistance – We recognize that many people want to help indirectly or "behind the scenes". We need volunteers to help with the collections after Mass on the first weekend of the month, collect and store documents in our electronic document library, be a liaison between the various groups within the parish, etc.
Time and Talent - Direct assistance – Some people like personally connecting with those in need - our "neighbors". These are our "home visitors". They work directly with our neighbors to get a better understanding of the type of assistance needed. Another role that has direct contact with those in need are members who contact our neighbors to let them know that we are not able to assist them at this time.
